Our monthly meetings are the second Monday of every month at The Sheraton Four Points, 8110 Aero Drive, San Diego 92123 (858-277-8888). Meeting registration and networking take place from 9:30 – 10:00 am. Our meeting and guest speaker run between 10:00 am – noon. Check out this month’s Guest Speaker below!
After each meeting at 12:15 PM, you can join Coaches in Action. This sub-group meets with an experienced coach to do some “rapid recall” of what you learned and how you can apply it in your coaching practice. Sometimes the speaker will join you as well. It’s a great opportunity to ingrain your learning and get to know your colleagues on a deeper level. These sessions usually lasts about an hour, depending on the interest and conversation. It is not only useful, but fun! Feel free to bring your own lunch or grab something from the coffee bar in the lobby if you want.
All meetings are free to members, except for those seeking CEU credits. These members will be charged a $15 processing fee. While pre-registration is not required, all members and guests must sign in and wear their badges at the meeting to gain entrance. Guests are always welcome. First-time guests attend for free unless CEU credits are desired. In that case the first-time guest will be charged a processing fee at the non-member rate of $25. Meeting costs for returning non-member guests are $20 (cash or check) per meeting, plus $25 if CEU credit is desired. If you decide to join the day of your first paid meeting, the $20 meeting fee will be applied to your yearly membership if paid in full on that day.

“We Gotta Fail…To Succeed!”
With Milo Shapiro
How to Create Success through Failure
Creating a healthier balance in our relationship with risk, change, and potentially failure. As coaches, we are always faced–either over time or suddenly–with adjusting. Be it new technology, new approaches, or a client who doesn’t react the way we expect, the ability to try something new without it rocking our world is critical. There are many programs on the new approaches, but not many address our attitude toward them. This one is precisely about that…and brings it out in a fun, interactive way.
At the end of the presentation you will:
- Open minds to new way of embracing change and risk in being in the coaching business and in working with clients.
- Recognize stumbling blocks in several different areas of risk, creativity, and communication.
- Learn to distinguish between taking our work seriously and taking ourselves too seriously.
In 2000, Milo left fifteen years in Information Technology to pursue his passion: applying improvisation to business practices and personal development. Through his teamwork course “TEAMprovising” , he creates team connectedness, improved communication and boosted innovation (programmers at Sempra Energy, engineers at Qualcomm…even surgeons at AOSpine). His interactive improv-related motivational speeches have delighted Southwest Airlines, Minolta, and Pfizer. As a speaking coach, Milo has helped hundreds (including top management at Sharp Health Care) become more prepared, polished and powerful. A speech about his book “Public Speaking: Get A’s, Not Zzzzzz’s!” provides a fresh voice on this old topic. Visit www.IMPROVentures.com.

You’ll leave the workshop emotionally transformed: Motivated and committed to raise your fees PLUS the specific ideas opportunities and steps how to do that in the 2 weeks following the workshop. Being in business as a coach since 1997 as a pioneer of our profession in Germany, a former President of the ICF Germany and former first non-American board member and mentor coach of the ICF Michigan, Sylvia knows our profession in and out. It breaks her heart to see passionate well trained coaches struggling with their business and giving up. For every coach who goes out of business there are thousands of people whose dreams stay unlived and whose goals unfulfilled. She is committed to change that!
